Your Income Style (RISA®)
How we use your income style
Your style is where the plan starts. It isn’t where it ends.
- 1
We read your results together
We go over what you told us, and check whether it sounds like you. If it doesn’t, we adjust.
- 2
We look at the numbers
Your style tells us what matters to you. Your numbers tell us what’s possible. We look at both: what you own, what you need each month, and what could get in the way.
- 3
We talk through the options
Different styles lead to different approaches. We walk through the ones that fit you, and what each costs you in flexibility, growth or certainty.
- 4
You decide
You take the plan home and decide on your own timeline.
An example
Hypothetical example, for illustration only. Not an actual client.
Take a couple in their early sixties, a few years from retiring. One of them tests as Income Protection: they sleep best knowing the essentials are covered no matter what the market does. The other tests as Total Return: they’re comfortable riding out volatility for growth. Their plan splits the difference: a base of contractually guaranteed income covers the essential bills, and the rest stays invested for growth and flexibility. Neither partner has to compromise on how they feel about risk.
